2021 Beauty Trends

We were honoured to be asked for our opinion on Beauty Trends for 2021 for a blog by Gorgeous Girl. Here are our thoughts on the subject.

Emphasis on Skincare Health

Home offices, curbside pick-up, online school and generally people staying home, our clients? make-up routines shifted. We saw increased priority on skincare. People had more time to focus on the health of their skin and the need for effective skincare products increased.

The emergence of maskne in all age groups also contributed to rising skincare sales for both men and women. Masks are a part of our everyday life now and unfortunately, make our skin more vulnerable to irritation. Medical grade skincare provided by a medical esthetician has helped our clients with both maskne and anti-ageing, or as we like to encourage pro-ageing.

Zoom Face

Our Zoom Call Face has inspired clients to make some subtle changes that address facial concerns like crow’s feet, eye bags, and forehead wrinkles. Neuromodulators (Botox/Dysport) and Fillers (Juvderm/Restylane) remained popular. However, the rise of non-surgical procedures such as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Blethoplasty could be seen too. These are more popularly known as the Vampire Facial and Mini-Eyelift. We all want to look and feel our best, even more so having our faces on screens nationwide!

Eyes, Lashes and Brows Oh my!

Our clients still want to look their best while wearing masks. We saw an increase in all treatments that focus on the eye area. Lash growth serums, lash and brow tints, lash lifts, brow lamination and mascara. Lash extensions require consistent maintenance so clients are looking for ways to emphasize their eyes with low maintenance treatments. As mask usage continues in 2021, so will emphasis on our eyes as part of our beauty routine.
